Plus Size Fashion Trends For Spring

Spring is coming and plus size fashion trends are gearing up for a beautiful season. If you follow any of the fashion magazines or websites, you’ll see that the new trends look good not only on our skinny sisters but look great on us full figured girls as well. I should admit that, for myself, I wouldn’t wear everything some of those fashion models wear. Some of it looks…well…ridiculous, but that’s just me.
What I’m going to do with this short article is to give you some tops for the upcoming spring season. No need to hide your sexy curves underneath frumpy and bulky bag dresses. In a future article we’ll discuss accessories as well. Maybe even plus size coats.
Let’s start with what many might feel is controversial among heavier women-Sheer and See-Through.
I know, I know, you’re not certain how much of your body you want to show, but trust me, they will look great on you. Sheer fabric is back this spring with a range from the soft and feminine to the downright sexy. Don’t let this be intimidating to you. I’m not talking about skin tight see-through tips better suited for the bedroom. I’m talking about fabric with a flowing and draping effect.
The next trend could loosely be called “over the shoulder wonders.” This is a look found all over the runways and is a carry over from the Fall. This fashion was a real stand out at this years Academy Awards show. Single shoulder gowns and dresses offer a sultry and sexy look without showing too much skin. While some might think it will require a good deal of self confidence to pull off this plus size fashion, this look highlights and compliments your breasts AND your legs. And you can pick up a sexy strapless under-wire bra to wear underneath.
I like to follow plus size fashion trends for spring. And then summer quickly follows on spring’s heels and soon you’ll want to be thinking about swim wear. Just because we are curvy does not mean we won’t look good at the pool or down by the beach. So what’s hot this year in swim wear for plus size girls? Just like with dresses, a single shoulder bathing suit is a fabulous choice for the upcoming season. Another add-on for swimming suits is jewelry right on the clothes themselves. Talk about classy and chic. And of course something sheer over the top is just the ticket for you fashionistas out there.

The fashion world has finally come to grips with the reality and necessity of trendy plus size women’s clothing. Modern designers have come to realize that there is a real and growing market for plus size clothes for women. And those who do the marketing for these designers have put out lines for all occasions, from plus size dresses to plus size coats.
Let’s look at workout clothes for a minute. Just because a plus size woman has a voluptuous figure doesn’t mean she doesn’t want to stay healthy and in shape. And there is no need to look all frumpy in workout clothes. Hot and sweaty can also be hot and sassy.
Gym clothes manufacturers know this and a have been working overtime trying to pump out these attractive fashions for every season. One recent poll revealed that the average American woman is about a size 16 and not the skinny blond pins you see in magazines and on T.V. While you still want to look at the price tag, you needn’t worry about the size tag for trendy plus size women’s clothing.
What about work and office wear? This is where modern plus size women’s clothing really shines. And you see these fashions in most every woman’s magazine on the shelf, not just specialty catalogs. With regards to plus size clothes for women, who are a major part our work force, there is such a wide variety of beautiful blouses, tops, pants and skirts and dresses available today. Along with these fashions, you can just accessorize with a couple of nice pieces of jewelry and you are all set.
Another stand out area for plus size women’s clothing is casual wear. It is far easier to find nice everyday plus size clothes for women than it was in our mother’s day. With a little understanding about what looks good on your particular shape you can easily fill your wardrobe with trendy modern fashions. And like most casual clothes these styles are designed to flatter and conceal the less desirable parts of your body. And plus size womens coats are available for every season.
Finally we come to formal and evening wear. What I like to pick for a wonderful night out is something with an A-line shape. I like the way it flairs out at the bottom, particularly with my “little black dress.” I just love to have this sexy and classy look in my closet.
